Locked Out

Five or six years ago I created a Facebook account because I needed an account for work. I hadn’t used the account since then, but a few weeks ago decided to try out using Threads. While doing that I found my old Facebook password to log in and associate my new Instagram/Threads account with the old Facebook account. After a few days, I was greeted with this:

Unfortunately, I have no way of recovering this account. I had just added my new email address on the account because the existing ones were with my old employers email. Since they detected “unusual activity” on the account, my new email address was removed as a recovery mechanism, and the only way to get back in is the email account I haven’t had access to in at least five years.

There’s no real point to this story except to express sympathy for others who have found themselves in similar situations.
